Where in the world are the Cook Islands?

PIFA visitors find the Cooks on the map

The number one question we received during PIFA weekend was: “Where in the world are the Cook Islands?”

Good question! In short, the Cooks are south of Hawaii and in between Samoa and Tahiti. The plane ride from Tahiti to Rarotonga (the capital of the Cook Islands) is about 90 minutes. Fun fact: Pukapuka is actually closer to Samoa than it is to Rarotonga! Fun fact number two: my grandma’s family is from Pukapuka, and my grandpa’s side is from Aitutaki.

PIFA photos and a video recap will be up soon!
