My Tivaevae

Live from Heritage of Aloha 2018

I popped on to Facebook Live video to share a look at my sewing progress while doing a tivaevae demonstration at the Heritage of Aloha festival in Los Angeles.

The tacking is done and now comes the fun part – the embroidery!

I kind of hated the tacking process. Pinning the pattern was difficult, this is my first time pinning anything this large and I don’t think I did it properly. I also suspect that my bad pinning made the tacking part take longer than it might have otherwise.

Oh well. I’m excited to get into the embroidery part. Now it’s going to start looking like a tivaevae!
